Athens, 14 June 2017
We are pleased to inform you that the decision of the Board of Directors of the “DIAZOMA” Association for the 10th General Assembly has been made and will be held from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th September 2017 in East Macedonia and Thrace, where we will be staying in the beautiful cities of Komotini and Kavala.
The selection of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is not accidental as it is linked to the innovative program “Cultural Route of the Egnatia Motorway”, which is planned by the competent authorities, the Region, the Municipalities, the Ministries of Culture and Environment. The above program, having a total budget of 45.807.000 Euros, was integrated into the Complete Spatial Investment of the Operational Program “E. Macedonia & Thrace 2014-2020”. DIAZOMA, always in full synergy with all the relevant bodies, contributes to the implementation of the above program.
During our meeting, we will visit the following magnificent ancient theaters of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace:
1. Theater of Phillipi,
2. Theater of Thassos,
3. Theater of Maronia,
4. Theatrical settings in Kavirio Samothrace.
The cities of Komotini and Kavala are the two main nodes of our 10th General Assembly, as well as the “Cultural Route of Egnatia Odos”. We chose to stay in both of these cities, as Komotini is a mosaic of different civilizations and monuments, while Kavala is a beautiful coastal town, close to the great archaeological site of Philippi and Thassos.
Just like every year at our General Assembly there will be lovely musical events, local products and many surprises.
The meeting of the 10th General Assembly of the Diazoma Association will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2016, at 11:00 am. – 14:00 pm in the Hall of the Papanikolaou Foundation in Komotini. After a short break for lunch, we will resume in the same room from 16:00pm – 18:30pm and then will complete the works at the archaeological site of Maroneia from 19:30pm – 21:30pm.
This year, as you already know, we will be staying at hotels in Komotini and Kavala, where, after consultation with the hotel managers, room rates will range from 40 Euros (single) to 70 Euros (triple) per day, including breakfast. However, as we comprehend the economic difficulties of the time and we want to facilitate your participation in our General Assembly, DIAZOMA will be informing you of the special offers for all meals in Thassos, Samothrace and Komotini. “DIAZOMA” has developed a very nice cooperation with the local authorities and we will be enjoying local delicacies.
Due to that our trip is multidimensional and has high organizational requirements I would like to ask you to confirm your participation in our 10th General Assembly by Friday, 30 June 2017, by completing the attached Participation form.
Finally, for your briefing I am attaching the program of the 10th General Assembly of the “DIAZOMA” Association. As you will see, this year we have prepared two programs, one for those staying in Komotini , and one for those who choose to stay in Kavala, which differ only in the hours of departure and arrival to and from the Hotels.
The Secretary of Diazoma Association, Mrs Katerina Avramopoulou, will be at your disposal for any further information and for clarifications (tel. 210 82 54 256).
Hoping to see all of you,
