THE WILDFLOWERS OF NORTHERN EVIA: MOVING PARTICIPATION IN THE COLLECTIVE EFFORT FOR THE REGION’S REGENERATION

The crowdfunding project THE WILDFLOWERS OF NORTHERN EVIA, a DIAZOMA Association initiative, was launched last June. It aims to implement projects and actions that will contribute to the area’s regeneration and embellish and complement the broader Reconstruction Programme for the fire-stricken municipalities of Northern Evia that is underway.

Crowdfunding is an alternative form of fundraising for a good cause that involves many people participating through small contributions.  In this way, THE WILDFLOWERS OF NORTHERN EVIA’s crowdfunding campaign allows every citizen to actively participate in Evia’s reconstruction by contributing a minimum amount of 5 euros, no matter where they are.

The campaign aims to raise 110,000 euros by the end of the year. People’s touching participation has already been so great that nearly 50% of the target has been reached.

The final amount raised will be allocated to implementing emblematic culture, tourism, and education projects and actions. They all focus on the New Forest, which lies at the heart of the Reconstruction of Northern Evia Programme.
