Mr Stavros Benos, as Head of the Committee for the Reconstruction of Northern Evia, is responsible for convening the monthly consultants-contractors working meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to foster a consistent and constructive dialogue throughout the preparation of the studies required by the Programme, particularly the exchanges between the consultants-contractors and the Head of the Programme’s Masterplan for Northern Evia Mr Nikos Drakonakis.
During the working meeting, Mr Stavros Benos briefed the participants in detail on the progress of the Reconstruction Plan and the completion of the study commissioning. The Head of the Committee also made particular reference to the “Beacon” projects, whose implementation will begin next spring. The “Beacon” projects will exemplify how the remaining projects will select and implement the actions to follow in the future. Mostly, they will act as “signposts” that will allow the citizens of Northern Evia to see in the spring of 2022 what the future will look like in their area.
During the working meeting, Ms Eva Gialantzi, adviser to the General Secretary for Public Investments and NSRF Mr Dimitris Skalkos, and Ms Elisabet Preza, member of the Committee for the Reconstruction of Northern Evia, gave a presentation on the significant issue of safeguarding the Programme’s Economic Area of the Projects & Actions that will be included in the Northern Evia ITI.
This was followed by an update on the legal framework governing the commissioning of the Programme’s studies and the implementation of projects in a setting of Emergency Circumstances by lawyer Mr Sotiris Foteas, who is volunteering his legal services to the Northern Evia Reconstruction Programme and has drafted the Programme’s study agreements.
Then, Mr Christos Chiotis, Digital applications associate at Diazoma and member of DIAZOMA’s D-HUB incubator, presented the innovative Data Platform currently being designed by the incubator to support the vital work undertaken by the consultants-contractors and the realisation of the Programme’s Public Consultation.
The Ministers, the Regional Governor and the two Mayors attending the meeting proceeded to make some very interesting statements followed by a lively discussion between the attendees.
All the necessary covid protection measures were observed during the meeting.
