Wim Mertens brings his “Dust of Truths” to the Athens Festival

Having recorded more than 65 albums, and with a committed audience around the world, the great Belgian composer Wim Mertens returns to Greece for a unique concert at the Herod Atticus Odeon.

In the first part of the concert, Mertens, who is known for his minimalist music and many influences from classical, pop, jazz and ambient music, will present the composition “Dust of Truths,” the last part of the Cran aux Oeufs trilogy (2015-2016). He drew his inspiration for this work from Greece and from the unique experience he had 3 years ago, when he played a solo at the Octavian Augustus monument in Nikopolis –which is why Mertens, before appearing in Herodion, will give another concert at the Nikopolis Ancient Odeon, in Preveza.

In the second part of the concert, the audience will enjoy a selection of the composer’s most famous works.
