Vassilis Lambrinoudakis, Professor Emeritus of Classical Archaeology at the University of Athens -“The Sanctuary of Asclepius at Epidauros: New Finds Rewrite the Function and History of the Most Important Sanatorium in Antiquity”
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki welcomes and guides Italian researchers and students from Friday 18 August, 2017 at 20:00 to Thursday 31 August 2017. The visitors will “walk” along ancient Egnatia road having as a guide the new Egnatia road, more specifically, the Thessaloniki-Kavala route. The “Cultural Route of Egnatia Odos-Via Egnatia” is being designed by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the Ministries of Culture and Environment and the Municipalities of the Region. The “DIAZOMA” Association acts as a link between the organizations and contributes to the implementation of the above program.
The “Cultural Route of Egnatia Odos-Via Egnatia” having a total budget of 45,807,000 Euros, was included in the Integrated Spatial Investment of the Operational Program “E. Macedonia & Thrace 2014-2020”.
