DIAZOMA Association 15th General Assembly in Kalamata and the Archaeological Site of Ancient Messene Successfully Completed
On June 3-5, the 8th Corporate Members Meeting of the DIAZOMA Association took place at Loutra Aidipsou in Northern Evia. The meeting was combined with the 4th Meeting between consultants-contractors and the local community, bodies and institutions of Northern Evia. The works took place at the Thermae Sylla Spa Wellness Hotel, with the official sponsorship of Ktima Gerovassiliou, a corporate member of the DIAZOMA Association.
“Northern Evia is reborn and productive”
The central theme of the meeting was the emergence of entrepreneurship as a driving force for the sustainable and viable development of Northern Evia, along with the reforms that support the Reconstruction and Regeneration Programme for the fire-stricken areas.
Moreover, the main objective was to highlight the contribution of DIAZOMA’s Corporate Members to the Association’s multifaceted work (ancient theatres, holistic programmes). Particular emphasis was given to the sponsorships for the Reconstruction of Northern Evia Programme, which funded the 13 studies in progress.
During the meetings, the Head of the Reconstruction of Northern Evia Programme, Mr Stavros Benos, delivered his speech entitled “Making our Mark”, which focused on the principles underpinning the Programme, namely triple sustainability, global synergies, and a wave of reforms.
Experts and consultants participating in the Programme currently underway delivered very interesting presentations, as did DIAZOMA’s highly active incubator “D-HUB”, focusing on double sustainability, innovation and creating a favourable investment climate.
During the meeting, DIAZOMA Programme Coordinator Mr Evdokimos Fregoglou and Mr Petros Imirziadis, Business Development Head at Sales Promotion, announced the Crowdfunding initiative “Wildflowers of the New Forest”. It aims to raise funds for the many actions and projects designed under the Reconstruction of Northern Evia Programme. Sales Promotion, a Corporate Member of DIAZOMA, has undertaken the promotion of the crowdfunding initiative. In addition, the new promotion webpage dorees.diazoma.gr of the initiative was presented, designed by Mr Christos Chiotis, Digital Applications Associate at DIAZOMA, and D-HUB, the Association’s incubator.
A special moment during the three-day event was when the Head of the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme of the Region of Central Greece, Mr Kostas Lemas, described the management and administrative part of the Integrated Territorial Investment, as well as the significant added value that it brings to fostering a new culture of cooperation and synergies.
The series of speeches was concluded on June 5, 2022, with Ms Maria Sofikitou (archaeologist-Director), Ms Maria Kourasani (archaeologist- Head of Development Programmes), and Ms Katerina Avramopoulou (economist- Head of Economic Development) presenting the full extent of the Association’s work in protecting and promoting ancient theatres and the holistic cultural tourism programmes being implemented by DIAZOMA and the competent bodies. Particular emphasis was given to the decisive contribution of Corporate Members to their implementation.
