Ktima (Estate) Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by the visionary, maverick and pioneer winemaker Yiannis Boutaris, after his stepping down from the family wine business. Since 2004, Stellios Boutaris, Yiannis’ son and 5th generation winemaker, has taken over succeeding in establishing Kir-Yianni among the major Greek Estates with vineyards and wineries at the grand Northern Greek terroirs of Naoussa and Amyndeon. Moreover, with a presence in 54 countries, Ktima Kir-Yianni is the leading Greek Wine ambassador worldwide. Building up tradition through innovation and promoting the holistic sustainable growth as part of its core philosophy and strategy, Kir-Yianni is the first Greek winery to join INTERNATIONAL WINERIES FOR CLIMATE ACTION (IWCA), the world acclaimed group of pioneer wineries that both invest in the development of know-how and exchange their experience to mitigate the challenges of climate change and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
