Community Led Local Development

dem-20092016a

Community Led Local Development is a method describing a “bottom-up” approach to regional development involving local partners in shaping the future of their communities. This approach harnesses the capacity of a community striving for change and development and leads to the discovery of untapped potential within communities and territories. The method is designed to showcase the strengths or the “advantages” of the community in the social, environmental and economic sectors, rather than simply focus on addressing its weaknesses. Through Community Led Local Development, the local partnership is in the competitive position to receive long-term funding which is then allocated by the community.
